Selection Process for MPSC Group B Posts
- Stage 1 – Combined Pre-Examination (Samyukt Purva Pariksha): All three posts share a common preliminary examination, which carries a total of 100 marks.
- Stage 2 – Main Examination (Mukhya Pariksha): Candidates who are shortlisted based on their performance in the Combined Pre-Examination become eligible to appear for the Main Examination for their respective posts. The Main Examination for the Maharashtra Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Combined Service carries 400 marks.
- Stage 3 – Physical Test (for Police Sub-Inspector only): A physical endurance test, consisting of 100 marks, is conducted specifically for Police Sub-Inspector candidates. A minimum of 60 marks (60 out of 100) is required to qualify. Candidates scoring below 60 marks will not be considered eligible for interview or further selection processes, nor will they be included in the final selection.
- The final merit list will be determined by combining the scores from the Main Examination and the Physical Test (applicable only for Police Sub-Inspector).
- The examination format and process for each post will adhere to the respective service entry rules:
- Assistant Section Officer, Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Service Entry Rules 2018.
- State Tax Inspector (Tax Collector Inspector) Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Service Entry Rules 2021.
- Police Sub-Inspector, Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Service Entry Rules 1995.
- The final result processing for both the Combined Pre-Examination and Main Examination will follow the current Examination Scheme/Method as published on the Commission’s official website.
How to Apply for MPSC Group B Recruitment 2026
- Applications are accepted only through the Commission’s Online Application System available at https://mpsconline.gov.in.
- Step 1: If you are a new user, create a new Profile (Account) and register on the Commission’s Online Application Portal. Existing users should log in and update their profile as needed.
- Step 2: Ensure your account is active and complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) verification process through the Commission’s portal before proceeding with the application.
- Step 3: The KYC process must be completed as per official Advt. No. ADR-2425/SER.06/2025/MA.TAN., published on 20 June 2025, within the valid period specified in your account. This KYC process must be completed independently.
- Step 4: Upload all required documents, as applicable, in PDF format. Adhere to the prescribed file size limits (minimum 50 KB, maximum 500 KB per file).
- Step 5: Pay the examination fee either online (using Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking) or offline (via Challan at any branch of the Indian State Bank).
- Step 6: Select your preferred district examination centre from the available options.
- Step 7: As per the Combined Pre-Examination notification, candidates must apply online through the Commission’s Computer System for the Maharashtra Group-B (Non-Gazetted) Combined Pre-Examination.
- Step 8: Based on the total number of reserved and unreserved vacancies from the Combined Pre-Examination, the number of candidates eligible for the Main Examination will be determined, and a combined merit result for Maharashtra Group-B (Non-Gazetted) service candidates will be declared.
- Admit Cards for the examination will be made accessible on the Commission’s Online Application Portal (https://mpsconline.gov.in) approximately 7 days prior to the examination date. Candidates are responsible for downloading and printing their Admit Card and presenting it at the examination centre.
- The Admit Card cannot be issued directly; it must be downloaded by the candidate from the Commission’s portal.
- Upon the availability of the Admit Card, candidates will receive an SMS notification on their registered mobile number.
General Information and Instructions for MPSC Applicants
- There are a total of 37 district examination centres across Maharashtra for this examination. (Refer to Page 1 of the notification).
- Candidates who successfully pass the Combined Pre-Examination and qualify for the Main Examination will be required to declare their Main Examination preferences themselves.
- Applications will only be accepted through the Commission’s Online Application System.
- The application portal is accessible at https://mpsconline.gov.in and also linked from https://mpsc.gov.in.
- Applications without the payment of the prescribed examination fee will not be considered valid.
- KYC verification through the Commission’s portal (as per Advt. No. ADR-2425/SER.06/2025/MA.TAN., dated 20 June 2025) must be completed within the specified period before applying.
- Candidates claiming Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservation must upload their income/asset certificate for the year 2025–2026 or 2026–2027 by the application deadline (30 April 2026).
- Candidates seeking Sports Quota reservation must upload the Sports Certificate (as per Government Decision dated 01 July 2016) along with their application before the deadline.
- Divyang (PWD) candidates are required to upload a valid UDID Card (Universal Identification Card) and the relevant disability certificate.
- If the Sports Certificate submitted with the application is either unavailable, incomplete, or invalid by the prescribed date, the Sports Reservation claim will not be accepted.
- Candidates must select a district examination centre at the time of applying. Changes to the chosen district centre will not be permitted under any circumstances.
